SHILLONG: United XI defeated New Friends Union by only eight runs in a close second semifinal of the SCA Super Division Cricket League at the Cricket Ground, Polo, on Wednesday.
United XI won the toss and chose to bat first, putting up a total of 196/9 in 40 overs.
Jefferson scored 32, while Purojit Mondal took 3/39.
In reply, Purojit returned with the bat to top-score with 64 runs for NFU, but his team were all out for 188. Rajendra GC took 3/35.
The Super Division final will take place on Friday between United XI and TNT Sputnik at 8:30am.
