Theft

  • On February 27, unknown miscreants broke into the house of Nemkhemdim Gualnam at Lumbasuk, Nongthymmai and stole gold ornaments and cash Rs. 10,000.
  • R Sangma Senior Engineer, PHE Songsak Section lodged a complaint (February 26) at Songsak PS that unknown miscreants stole GI pipes from Songsak Water Supply Plant at Songsak (EGH).
  • On February 17 midnight, unknown persons in a pick-up van stole tools and machineries valued around Rs. 6,16,100 from the store premises of M/s Power Transmission Ltd., Byndihati (EJH).
  • On February 26, unknown miscreants broke into the Fabrication shop of Alok Malakar at Mawblei, Shillong and stole three steel almirahs and other materials valued around Rs. 29,750.
  • On February 24 around 5 pm, unknown miscreants stole a music system from the Maruti car (ML-05C-4805) belonging to Lambor Kharpuri at Oakland, Shillong.

Accident

On February 27 at about 8:30pm, Naina Kakati (22) sustained burn injuries when a cooking stove burst in her residence at Pynthorbah, Block-IV, Shillong. She was shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong.

Electrocution

On February 26 at about 3:30 pm, Jakarias Sangma was electrocuted while he was fishing with a Generator at Dura River (SWGH). Necessary formalities were observed and the cadaver was handed over to the relatives.

Threat call

Z.J Sangma, CEO, Tura Municipal Board lodged a complaint at Tura PS that on February 26 at about 6.30 am, one employee of the Board received one anonymous telephone call, in which the caller claimed himself to be a GNLA Commander and demanded Rs. 5,000/- and later reduced the amount to Rs. 3,000/-, with instruction to pay the money at Tura Municipal Board office at about 12 noon on the same day. Since then, she has been receiving threatening calls from him.

Damage to property

On February 26, unknown miscreants damaged the monitor of SBI ATM located near Military Hospital, Shillong.

Misappropiation

VR Syiem lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on February 15, she returned back from USA. However, on February 25, she received an SMS from Axis Bank that an amount of Rs. 33,000- was debited from her Credit Card at Wallmart Store, USA.

Body recovered

On February 22 at about 5 pm, the body of Nizam Uddin with incise wound on the throat was recovered from the cabin of truck (AS-09C-2602) at Malidor area (EJH).

Assault

  • On February 26 at about 11 pm, unidentified miscreants assaulted Nigel Chand (17) at Lumbasuk, Nongthymmai, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Bethany Hospital, Shillong. Matter is under enquiry.
  • On February 23 at about 7 pm, Daslinus Ryntathiang (19) assaulted Iandingroy Wahlang at Mawkohmit village (WKH), causing injuries to him.
  • On February 22 around 11:50 pm, one Ram Hinge assaulted and threatened Dawyo Sungoh and his friends with dire consequences at Nongbah Lumshor village (WJH).

Kidnap and rape

On February 23 evening, one unidentified driver of a Tata Sumo (ML-06-6660) kidnapped one fifteen-year-old girl from Ktiehthawiar village (WKH) to Rwiang (WKH), where he raped her.
