Finalize camps: ANVC-B demands
By Our Reporter
SHILLONG: The ANVC-B has asked Chief Minister Dr. Mukul Sangma to take steps to finalize the designated camps for its cadres.
“It has come to our knowledge that the Chief Minister has not authorized anyone to take a decision on this matter. This is becoming a serious issue for our organization as even after a month of the Shillong meeting the camps have not been finalized,” ANVC-B said in a statement.
The group feared the delay may push their cadres to take “extreme decisions”, adding that hundreds of their cadres were scattered and were getting frustrated.
According to ANVC-B, the Government should rehabilitate the cadres and provide shelter, security, assistance and support as agreed.
“Dr. Mukul Sangma should intervene as we joined the peace pact on his invitation for peace and development in the Garo Hills,” the statement said.
The peace pact with ANVC-B was signed in January 2013.
