SHILLONG: MeECL beat AH Veterinary by 36 runs in an SCA Corporate Cum Office League cricket match at the Cricket Ground, Polo, on Wednesday afternoon.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, the electricity men were restricted to 111/7 in 20 overs.

Johny John top-scored with 29 runs in the low-scoring match. Dibormi took 2/17.

In reply, Veterinary were skittled out for 75 in 16.4 overs. Johny returned with the ball to claim figures of 4/10 in four overs, while Arbinus took 3/12.

Meanwhile, in the earlier match, Meghalaya Secretariat defeated SS Net Com by 44 runs.

Wanlam Lyngwa’s 92 off 74 balls and Peter Rynjah’s bowling figures of 5/6 in three overs proved crucial for the bureaucrats.

Secretariat won the toss and chose to bat first, posting a total of 154/3 in their 20 overs.

Sanjay took 1/32 for SS Net Com.

In reply, Secretariat restricted their opponents to only 110/9 in the allotted 20 overs.

Dipankar Koch top-scored with 19 runs.

On Thursday, Sales XI will play 1st MLP at 9:00am, while Shillong Press Club go up against Raj Bhawan at 12 noon.
