Nongumlong lift U-16 trophy

SHILLONG: Nongumlong defeated Seng Samla Kynton 3-0 in the final of the 8th AS Khongphai U-16 Memorial Football Tournament, organised by the Upper Shillong Sports, Social & Cultural Association, on Saturday.
Three players scored a goal each for Nongumlong: Brightstar Nongneng (10th minute), Kevin Nongneng (14th) and Maitshaphrang Khongji (43rd).
Individual prizes were awarded after the final.
The best goalkeeper was Stephan Kharmyndai of San Mer, the top scorer was Defenlywell Mawiong with nine goals and the best player award went to Rheodolf Nongneng of Nongumlong.
Vivian Lyngdoh Tron of Nongkseh took home the promising player award along with John Calvin Dkhar of 4 Mer FT.
Vibgyor FC was adjudged the best disciplined team.
