Invitational football 2nd rd begins today

SHILLONG: Mawphlang Combine SC, Pynursla United and Byrnihat Newborn FC reached the second round of the Meghalaya Invitation Football Tournament, organised by the Pay For Right Youth and Cultural Club, at Malki Ground on Wednesday.
In the first match, Mawphlang Combine defeated Mawlai Kynton Massar Frennz Utd 2-0, while Pynursla United then easily got past Mawkynrew Nala Trep Jr 8-0 in the second fixture.
Byrnihat Newborn FC had a tougher match, with full time in their game against KSU ending 1-1. However, Byrnihat took the tiebreaker 5-4.
The last of the first round matches will be held on Thursday at 12:30pm between Mawkriah Nangiaikiew S&CC playing Malki Oldies FC.
The second round will then commence with Demseiniong SC taking on Mawryngkneng Students at 1:30pm and FOTU Soccer Academy facing Kynshi Solid Target at 2:30pm.
