SHILLONG: As many as 98 National Social Service, NSS Volunteers from the Department of Management & Commerce Studies, MLCU conducted a tree plantation activity and distributed dustbins in four schools at Umsning village, Ri Bhoi District on Thursday.
This exercise came about as a response to the pollution challenge that over the years had extended from Shillong to smaller towns and villages of Meghalaya.
“These problems have gone to the villages, and there is need to address these issues at that level – while our students get the opportunity to learn practical management on the ground”, said Marina Marwein, HOD Department of Management & Commerce Studies.
