1st MLP, Matrisangha trounce SCL opponents

SHILLONG: 1st MLP and Matrisangha both won their respective SCA Second Division Cricket League matches at the Cricket Ground, Polo, on Monday.

In the first match, 1st MLP beat Victoria by 79 runs. The police were put in to bat first and made 133/9 in 20 overs, with Gautam scoring 45 off 28 balls. Sujan took 2-17 in four overs.

In reply, Victoria were all out for just 54 in 15.4 overs, with Bilash taking 2-16 for the winners.

In the second match, Matrisangha eclipsed Occult by seven wickets.

Occult were made to bat first and were dismissed cheaply, all out for 45 in 15.3 overs. Pawan top-scored with 23, while Roop bagged four wickets for 13 runs.

In reply, Matrisangha reached 51/3 in 7.3 overs. Shubham made a run-a-ball 18.

Inter-school cricket

Meanwhile, the Shillong Cricket Association and the East Khasi Hills District Sports Office will organised the Inter School Cricket Tournament for boys under-16 and under-19.

The tournament will begin on April 10, with April 4 being the last date for the submission of entry forms.
