SHILLONG: Having put up a rookie candidate Daryl William Cheran Momin from Tura Lok Sabha seat against heavyweight NPP president Purno Agitok Sangma, the Congress party is now stressing on the need for people to elect a new and young leader who can take the State forward.
Addressing public meetings at Jetdoba, Mendal and Chishmakang in North Garo Hills on the last day of campaigning on Monday, Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) working president Deborah Ch Marak stated that Garo Hills needs a young and vibrant leader who is familiar with all the new technological advancement that has been made over the years.
Stating that youths are the backbone of the country, she said that people should elect a youth leader with enough far sight to create wonders for Garo Hills.
She also spoke on the need for Garo Hills to have a new MP who can raise the issues and concerns of the people in the corridors of the Parliament.
