Puppet festival

The Director of Arts and Culture has informed that the Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi in collaboration with the Department of Arts and Culture, Government of Meghalaya will organise a National level festival of Puppets “Putul Parampara” at U Soso Tham Auditorium, Shillong from April 27 to May 1 at 5 pm daily. Twenty Puppet groups from all over India will participate in this festival and all public are welcome.

Bore well

Synjuk Ki Rangbah Shnong, Nongthymmai Pyllun in its meeting has decided not to allow drilling of any bore well in the respective localities of Nongthymmai Pyllun with immediate effect.

BSNL

BSNL has informed that the numbering scheme of Dawki telephone exchange has been change from the level 222XXX to 227XXX from April 30 and it is done due to upgradation of the exchange.

Camp

The office of the Assistant Director ICD Project, Upper Shillong organised a fertility camp at Umroi and its adjoining villages on April 10 in which doctors and staffs of ICDP office and Umroi Veterinary Dispensary conducted door to door health check up of the cattle along with free distribution of medicines to the farmers.

Seminar

The concluding programme of the four years long celebration to mark Swami Vivekananda’s 150th Birth Anniversary, sponsored by the Government of India will be held at Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Quinton Road from April 26 to 28. On this occasion, a three day State-level Seminar on Unity in Diversity will be organized.
