May Day
Employees and workers of Greater Shillong will celebrate May Day on May 1 under the banner of Meghalaya Joint Council of Trade Unions and Associations. The flag hoisting ceremony at 9.30 am at the CTO Parking Lot will be followed by a procession at 12.30 pm.
Special camping
Shillong College NSS unit concluded its seven-day special camping programme at Laitkseh village on April 26. Construction of assets and village footpath was carried out during the programme which was financially supported by the NSS Cell, NEHU.
Cleaning drive
The Presbyterian Youth Association for Integrated Development is organising a one-day Observation of World Water Day and cleaning drive of Umshing Stream, the main source of drinking water supply for the 11 localities in Mawlai, on May 3. The programme is financed from the Voluntary Action Fund 2011-12 under Chief Minister’s Fund.
