SHILLONG: The Ka Lympung Ki Hynriew Shnong (Dorbar Shnong Mawkhar, Wahingdoh, Riatsamthiah, Umsohsun, Mission Compound and Wahthapbru) has demanded that the audit report of the Myntdu-Leshka Hydro Electric Project must be kept in the public domain.

In a memorandum submitted to Chief Minister Mukul Sangma, Lympung Ki Hynriew Shnong president D Dkhar strongly criticized the load shedding and added that the Chief Minister should intervene into the matter and advise MeECL for immediate withdrawal of the load shedding.

Lympung Ki Hynriew Shnong rued that load shedding has affected the common people especially those who are dependent on power supply to earn their livelihood.

The body also questioned the cost escalation of the Myntdu Leshka Hydro Power Project from Rs. 300 crore to over Rs. 1000 crore.

The Lympung also claimed that the ongoing power crisis in the State was due to mismanagement and lack of expertise in the MeECL.
