Obscenity

Police have arrested one Raju Roy for allegedly making obscene gestures at some school girls of St. Joseph Secondary School, Laitkor. The incident happened on April 30. Though he is claiming innocence, the school girls have identified the accused, police said.

Theft

On May 1 around 4.30 am, unknown miscreants stole one Bolero Camper (ML-05L-4715) belonging to Velentine Kharsyntiew from Mawiong, Shillong.

Damonlang Sutnga lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on April 29 around 10 pm, unknown miscreants stole one Tablet from EMRI quarter at Panaliar, Jowai (WJH).

On April 29, unknown miscreants stole one 300 AH Battery Bank valued around Rs. 70,000 from a mobile tower at Khliehtyrshi (WJH).

On April 29, unknown miscreants stole batteries from a mobile tower of M/s Airtel Telecommunication at Mookyniang village (WJH).

On April 29 in between 12.30 pm and 2 pm, unknown miscreants broke into the Govt. quarter of Riverlet Kharjana at Risa Colony, Shillong and stole her mobile handset.

On April 29 in between 12.30 pm and 2 pm, unknown miscreants broke into the Govt. quarter of. S.M Sangma at Risa Colony, Shillong and stole cash Rs. 18,000.

On April 28 in between 1 pm and 8 pm, unknown miscreants stole one laptop computer and cash Rs. 500 from NIFT Girls Hostel at Upper Nongthymmai, Shillong.

Arun Sharma lodged a complaint at Ranikor PS that on April 22 at about 3.30 pm, 11/12 unidentified miscreants took away one truck (A/F) loaded with tyres and spare parts valued around Rs. 10,50,000 from Bagli (SWKH).

On March 15, 2014, unknown miscreants stole one cell phone from the shop of Kwin Kharlukhi at Mawblei, Shillong. In this connection, Police arrested one Ricky Sohtun.

Dowry demand

Shyama Kumari of Barapathar, Shillong lodged a complaint at Lumdiengjri PS that her husband Sushil Kumar and his family members demanded dowry and threatened her and her family members with dire consequences at Siliguri, West Bengal.

Assault

Yeshwanti Ray lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on April 29, Sabitri Devi, daughter of Jukeshwar Shah, had assaulted her at Pynthorumkhrah, Shillong. She also complained that for the last 2 to 3 years Jukeshwar Shah has been harassing, abusing and threatening her with dire consequences.

Mawlai Police arrested Kitbok Lyngkhoi and John F. Lyngkhoi in connection with three assault cases under Mawlai PS.

Unclaimed body

On May 1 around 5 am, one Ioanis Nongrum (45) was found lying unconscious at Laban, Block-I, Shillong and was shifted to CH Shillong, where the doctor on duty declared him brought dead.

Rape attempt

On April 30 around 11 am, one Teibok Warjri (40) attempted to rape one nineteen-year-old girl at Pyllun village under Umiam PS (RB).

Looting

Md. Tofuruddin Sheikh lodged a complaint at Tura PS that on April 30 around 1 am, two unidentified miscreants in one car waylaid his truck (ML-08D-2553) at Dobasipara, Tura (WGH) and looted Rs. 200 from him.

Cyber crime

On April 29, Julie Lalngaihzuali hacked the bank account of Deepak Suyal and fraudulently withdrew an amount of Rs. 36,000.
