SHILLONG: Mizoram and Assam won handsomely, but Arunachal Pradesh lost by a heavy margin in their respective matches at the 20th Women’s National Football Championship on Friday.

Assam continue to lead Group D after a smashing 11-0 victory over Uttarakhand in Golaghat. Arunachal, however, lost 10-0 to Jharkhand, while Pondicherry and Tamil Nadu drew 1-1 in the other Group D game.

Both Assam and Jharkhand have seven points each, but the former are ahead on goal difference.

Meanwhile, Mizoram moved up to third in Group B with a 7-0 thrashing of bottom team Gujarat in Dibrugarh.

Group leaders Orissa went one better by defeating fourth-placed Karnataka 8-0, while Goa (second place) drew 2-2 with Haryana, who are fifth.
