Red Cross Day

World Red Cross Day will be celebrated on May 8 at 10 am at Raj Bhawan. Meghalaya Governor KK Paul will be the chief guest on the occasion and also preside over the annual general meeting.

Principals’ meet

The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) in association with the Regional Institute of Science and Technology (RIST) organized a Junior College Principals’ Meet (JCPM) recently in the Techno city campus.  Around 60 principals and senior teachers from various junior colleges of Assam and Meghalaya participated in the meet titled “Career Counseling and IT Enabled Teaching Learning”

Musical evening

Aroha Music and Cultural Society will organize an evening of western classical music  and poetry reading   on May 10 at Loreto Convent Hall at 5 pm.
Golden jubilee
St. Joseph’s Secondary School Pynthorumkhrah will celebrate the closing ceremony of its Golden Jubilee celebrations at 1:30 p.m on May 7 in the school premises.  Rev. Fr. George Maliekal, Provincial- Silchar Province will be the chief guest on the occasion while Health Minister A.L. Hek will be the guest of honour.

Cultural meet

The Rabindranath Tagore Club, Laban will organise the 7th inter-Shillong Cultural Meet in collaboration with Laban Bengalee Boys’  Higher Secondary School from May 11-June 1.
