Attempted rape

On May 9 at around 12.20 am, one Mesaroius Syiem Sad (28) attempted to rape a 35-year-old mentally unstable lady at Polo Bazar, Shillong. Police arrested the accused.

Body found

On May 9 at around 8.30 am, one unidentified male body (35/40 yrs) with injuries on its head and face was found lying in a drain at Langkyrding under Nongmynsong OP, Shillong. Necessary formalities have been observed.

Extortion

Tapan Mondal lodged a complaint at Williamnagar PS that since March 2014 he has been receiving demand call Rs. 15, 000 from an unknown person.

Theft

* On May 7 at around 1.30 am unknown miscreants broke into the shop New Sharma Mobile Set belonging to one Sunil Kumar at Khanapara (RB) and stole 75 mobile phone sets valued around Rs. 3, 72, 312.

* On April 27 at around 7.30 pm unknown miscreants stole Tata Sumo Victa (AS-01CC-8750) belonging to Parag Kalita from Nangalbibra Bazar (SGH).

Threat

* On May 7, Solin G Gabur lodged a complaint at Riangdo OP that on the night of March 22 three of his cattle were found missing from his premises at Dohde Mawkohram (WKH) and he suspected one Skamling Dkhar of the same village of committing the theft as one of the cows was reported to be under his confinement. When the complainant claimed the cattle, he was threatened with dire consequences by the accused.

* On May 6, Pravin Bakshi, DC, West Garo Hills District lodged a complaint at Tura PS that one Suraj Basfor and Kailash Basfor threatened the construction workers of a Meditation Centre of the World Renewal Trust at Babupara, Tura (WGH).

Money looted

* On May 7 at around 8 pm two unknown miscreants entered into the house of Twin Basaiawmoit at Kynrut village (WKH) and looted Rs. 11, 800 and gold ornaments.

* On May 5 at around 9.30 pm three unknown miscreants looted Rs. 3,60,000 from Palsing M Sangma at Ampati (SWGH) and threatened him with dire consequences.

Fraud

On March 31, one Dinesh Roy cheated Tinoris Khonglam by selling her 400 packets of salt as detergent powder at Rs. 27 per packet and promised to gift her a refrigerator at Nongmynsong, Shillong.
