Nagaland Rajya Sabha MP wishes a successful term of BJP in Center

Kohima:  Nagaland Rajya Sabha MP H. Khekiho Zhimomi has congratulated the ‘new Lok Sabha MPs elect to the Parliament and wished him a long successful innings in Parliament.  In a release from Delhi, Zhimomi said at this crucial economic and political crossroad, India in general and Nagaland in particular deserves a strong, determined and visionary Government under the leadership of Narendra Modi who has committed to respect the federal democratic structure by taking onboard all State Governments into confidence thereby strengthening the Union of India. Expressing confidence in the NDA Government at the Centre and the Nagaland Government, he stated the two Governments can now work in unison to accelerate growth, generate employment and propel development trajectory in the right direction for which the Nagas were deprived during the decade long UPA mal-governance. He expressed his optimism that with the tall stature and executive experience of Neiphiu Rio, the people of Nagaland and the Northeast region as a whole can be assured of good governance and able representation in the days to come. Zhimomi also thanked the Naga people and congratulated them for making the logical choice along with the Indian electorate by voting in NPF, the alliance partner BJP to form the next Government at the Centre. Nagaland SP (I) suspends parent body

Kohima: The Socialist Party (India) Nagaland unit has suspended the parent body due to instability. In a press release the National Vice President, Akhei Achumi, who was contesting the Nagaland Lok Sabha seat, said the state unit would elect its leaders after election of the state unit office bearers, which would be held on June 1. He requested the Youth wing and Mahila unit to submit the list of office bearers during the National Executive Meeting on May 31 at New Delhi.

Militant nabbed by troops

Imphal:  Troops of Red Shield Division conducted a successful operation at Bishnupur Bazaar on Friday and apprehended one armed PLA / RPF cadre, who was travelling in a civil vehicle from Bishnupur to Imphal.PIB Defence Wing said the man has been identified as N Leirinjao of Tairenpokpi, Awang Leikai, District Imphal West.One 9 mm Pistol along with three live rounds were recovered from him. He was handed over to PS Bishnupur. (UNI)

BJP Manipur celebrates election victory

Imphal:  Bharatiya Janata Party head office wore a festive look with party workers celebrating the victory of the party in the Lok Sabha elections. BJP which fielded in both the Lok Sabha seats could not do well however the party workers rejoiced in the victory across the country.Bharatiya Janata Party state president Th Chaoba said the party candidates could have got more votes if the elections were held in a free and fair manner. He said in Outer Manipur Parliamentary constituency people voted in favour of a particular candidate by force. In the Inner Manipur parliamentary constituency he felt money power swayed in favour of the ruling Congress party.In spite of the hurdles the party got more votes than the previous Lok Sabha elections Mr Chaoba said. Ering promises to complete pending work

Itanagar:  The newly-elected Congress MP from Arunachal East Ninong Ering has assured to complete all his pending works in the constituency he had initiated during his tenure as a minister in the outgoing UPA-II government.Ering also announced a series of schemes for different areas of Lower Dibang Valley during his visit there on Saturday.The schemes include flood protection programmes for Ephi Pani riversides and Roing area, construction of temporary foot bridge, construction of school buildings and water related projects. The former minister of state for minority affairs also thanked the people of the district for containing the ‘Modi Wave’ by electing him. (PTI)
