CM’s assurance to Modi

SHILLONG: While promising to give full support and cooperation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Mukul Sangma has said that he is looking forward to work together on matters of common concern.

“I take this opportunity to assure you of our full support and cooperation. We all look forward keenly to work with you on matters of common concern,” Sangma said in a letter to Modi on Wednesday.

Expressing his keenness to work with the centre on matters of common concern, Sangma said, “Under your wise and able leadership, I am sure that relations between the Centre and the States will grow in mutual confidence in the larger interests of our nation.”

Pointing out that the Northeast states and Meghalaya in particular have their unique challenges as well as opportunities, Sangma said, “Together, we need to address these on utmost priority”.

He also apoligised for not being able to attend Modi’s swearing-in ceremony.
