Tainted employee retires

SHILLONG: One of the three officials alleged involved in the education scam and against whom an inquiry is on, has already retired, a senior official of the Education Department said.

The official of the department, however, did not divulge the name of the retired official even after repeated requests.

The High Level Scrutiny Committee had recommended action against three education officials. The inquiry is also on against former Director, School Education and Literacy J D Sangma and one more education official whose name was not disclosed by the concerned government department.
