The first train with passengers arrived at Mendipathar Railway Station on March 31 last. Thousands of people witnessed the arrival of the first train. The announcement was delayed due to the model code of conduct, which came into force after the announcement of Lok Sabha election dates. The train service will be formally inaugurated shortly, official sources said on Tuesday.
