SHILLONG: Meghalaya Forest and Environment Minister Prestone Tynsong on Sunday said the department is still waiting for the creation of the additional post in the PHE department before formally taking over the administrative control of the Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board (MSPCB).

“The matter is taking some time since the Government has to create an additional post in the PHE to absorb the two officials of the department who are currently on deputation with the MSPCB,” Tynsong said here.

Tynsong informed that the post of Chairman in the Board is being headed by an officer of the PHE in the rank of Additional Chief Engineer while an officer in the rank of Executive Engineer is the Member Secretary.

Tynsong also informed that the Government is still working out the modalities to pave way for a new dispensation to head the Board who will be an officer not below the rank of Chief Conservator of Forest.
