Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh unit of BJP on Monday hailed the Narendra Modi-led NDA government and the Union minister for Home for an additional allocation of fund for resettling people of the state residing along the Indo-China border to prevent incursions by the Chinese forces into the Indian territory.

Commenting on the decision for additional fund allocation of Rs 5000 crore by the Union government for resettling people in border areas, besides creating 54 new ITBP posts and construction of fast track roads along the Sino-Indo border, state BJP president Tai Tagak stated that the policy will highly benefit the people living along the border.

“It is a landmark achievement for the people of this country to fortify the sensitive international border which has been the biggest security threat to the nation,” he said in a statement.

The state unit had conducted ‘Sarhad Ko Pranam Yatra’ from September 25 to January 7 last, to pay homage to the soldiers, who sacrificed their lives in the Chinese aggression.

The president said during the programme it was found that the condition of those areas remained same as it was during the 1962 war.

The BJP also welcomed the move of the Union Environment Ministry to launch the system of online submission of application for environment clearance for getting faster clearance for the construction of border roads and strategically important projects in a transparent manner. (UNI)
