Kohima: Nagaland Governor Ashwani Kumar on Wednesday put in his papers, according to sources.

Kumar has become the third Governor to cooperate with the government by delivering his resignation. A former chief of the CBI, Kumar was appointed governor of Nagaland in March last year.

His resignation came in the wake of the Modi Government’s move to replace the governors appointed during the UPA regime and follows the resignations of Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh Governors. (UNI)
