SHILLONG: A rampant Nangkiew Irat were stopped in their tracks when Langsning SC scored a late equaliser to see their U-19 Shillong Premier League match, organised by the Shillong Sports Association, end 3-3 at the JN Sports Complex, Polo, on Tuesday.

Arguably the strongest team in the competition, Nangkiew, who are also defending champions, started the contest on a positive note with M Suting getting the opening goal in the eighth minute.

However, Langsning equalised later in the first half with a 38th minute goal by B Marsharing.

Five minutes into the second half saw Langsning take the lead through K Lyngdoh, but the game then swung back Nangkiew Irat’s way with a quick two goals from R Malngiang (63rd minute) and Suting again (71st).

Nangkiew then led 3-2 until the last two minutes of regulation time before M Wahlang provided the final goal of the game, bringing Langsning level 3-3.

Wednesday’s fixture is between Rangdajied United FC and Boys Sports Company at 4:15pm.
