SHILLONG: The National People’s Party (NPP) Bajengdoba block has alleged that there are gross lapses in the implementation of MNREGA in the area.

In a petition submitted to the North Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, NPP Bajengdoba Block Committee general secretary, Marwin N Sangma said that there is barely a village in Bajengdoba that has received sanction of 100 mandatory working days as envisaged under the act.

The party has expressed its serious concern and has urged the Deputy Commissioner to take necessary measures to sort out the irregularities and sanction the 100 working days to each Village Employment Council on time and also sanction the 100-day arrears due to all the VECs at the earliest in order to complete the developmental works on time.
