Recovery

Squadron Leader Zindo Francis, Security Officer, EAC, Air Force, Upper Shillong lodged a complaint at Laban police station that on July 26 at around 3 am, after it was known that two unidentified miscreants were hiding near SMQ Block-P-40, a search was conducted at the place and four car music systems which were reportedly abandoned by the miscreants were recovered.

Stone pelting

On July 26 at around 3 am, unknown miscreants pelted stones at the residence of a woman identified as Nelufer Laloo at Wahingdoh. In this connection, Police detained three persons Augustine Warjri, Alwin Lakiang and Claren Rajee.

Assault

On July 26, an Assam Rifles personnel assaulted one Maximus Manik Bhattacharjee at Nongrim Hills, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was admitted at Civil Hospital Shillong.

Attempted murder

On July 25 at around 8.20 pm, unidentified miscreants (8/10) armed with lethal weapons, went to the residence of one James R.N.D Bamon at Nongrah, Shillong and attempted to murder his brother and sister.

One dead

A person died after he fell down from a tree at Mawryngkneng. According to police, on July 25 at around 12 noon, one Borson Lyngdoh (50) of Pommura, Mawryngkneng (EKH), fell from a tree and sustained injuries. He was shifted to PHC Mawryngkneng where the Medical Officer declared him brought dead.

One injured

On July 25 at around 10 pm, one motorcycle knocked down one Sohitdul Rehman (38) at GS Road, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong.

NGT ban violation

On July 22 at around 1 pm, while conducting vehicle checking at Lumshnong (EJH), Police detected two trucks (ML-04-9761 & ML-04A-8036) driven by Primon Shylla and Lambor Bareh respectively, transporting coal in violation of NGT ban.

Attempted rape

A woman lodged a complaint at Jowai police station that on July 20 at around 9 pm, one Treiskhem Muskut went to her residence at Umiala Mukroh village (WJH), assaulted and attempted to rape her.

Abduction bid

A woman identified as one Ferlin CA Sangma lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS, that on July 24, at around 6pm, unidentified miscreants abducted one 14-year-old girl from Thana Road, Shillong. However, the victim managed to escape and returned home at 8.15pm.

Theft attempt

One Pearly Kharkongor lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS, that on July 24, at around 8am, one Banisha Lyngdoh entered the premises of Unitarian Church Nongthymmai, Lumiablot, Shillong and nearby houses with the intention to commit theft. Police arrested the accused.

One killed in blast

On July 23, at around 1.30pm, one Atwik Marak(42) of Nongthymmai Garo village under Pillangkata OP (RB), sustained injuries when a boulder fell on him while conducting blasting in a quarry. He succumbed to his injuries on the way to GMC Guwahati. The body was sent to CH Nongpoh.

Sexual assault

A woman lodged a complaint at Laban police station that on July 23, one Frank Khongsit took her in his car to Lawsohtun, Shillong and sexually assaulted her.

B’deshi held

On July 23, police arrested one Bangladeshi national identified as Md. Ramzan from Dalu West Garo Hills.

Threat message

One Dominic Arora of Nongdaju (WKH) lodged a complaint on July 22 at Shallang PS, that one Dalinma Arora texted threatening messages to his sister Reli Arora.

Theft

On July 22, unknown miscreants stole eleven GI pipes belonging to PHE from Sangmein, Upper Shillong.

On July 21, unknown miscreants stole GI pipes from Central Seismological Observatory, 5th Mile, Upper Shillong.

Crops damaged

One Rojest Pathaw and four others jointly lodged a complaint at Lumdiengjri PS, that on July 21 at around noon, Piten Sunn, Barosha Sunn, Dorin Sunn, Norin Sunn, Sanbok Sunn and their children, damaged the complainants’ crops at Lumdiengiei in East Khasi Hills.

Minor arrested

On July 23, Police arrested one 14-year-old boy from Jaidoh village (WKH) in connection with a POCSO Act case under Nongstoin PS.

Assault

On July 23, three persons, Jameel M Rynjah, Anup Kr. Sunar and Ravi Gurung assaulted one Franrkeskar Khongsit at Shillong College. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong. Police have arrested all the accused.

On July 23 at around 8.45pm, one Ali Hussain assaulted Mariam Begum (25) in her residence at Punjabi Line, Bara Bazar, Shillong. She sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong. Matter is under enquiry.

Fraud attempt

Nipon Hajong, EAC, Shillong lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on July 23, one Prakash Agarwal claiming to be Branch Manager, SBI called him from two different mobile phones and asked the name of complainant and details of his PAN Card informing that his PAN Card is being blocked by SBI Authority, whereas the PAN Card was not blocked.

Threat

One Arup Chaliha of M/s Dishnet Wireless Ltd. (Aircel) lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that during the last ten days, he was receiving calls from different mobile phones in which the anonymous caller asked him to provide jobs to some locals at the site or face dire consequences.
