Intl Day of World’s Indigenous People

SHILLONG: To celebrate the International Day of the World’s Indigenous People, the Anthropological Survey of India, organized a health awareness camp on August 9 for the benefit of the residents of Tyniar village.

The programme included an art competition for the children, cultural programme for the villagers and concluded with prize distribution.

The function was addressed by Dr RR Gowloog, form the Anthropological Survey of India, Ministry of Culture, North East Regional Centre Shillong and John F Kharshiing, Co-Chairman, Meghalaya State Planning Board and Chairman, the Grand Council of Chiefs of Meghalaya.
