Laban make merry against Laitlyngkot

SHILLONG: Friday’s First Division at Polo Grounds saw Laban’s K. Pale score a hat trick as his side drubbed Laitlyngkot 7-1. Pale’s team mates A. Krose and R. Challam also added two goals each as Laitlyngkot were unable to contain the lethal Laban attack.
Pale’s scored three goals in a span of just under 20 minutes (64th, 75th and 82nd) to slash any hopes of a Laitlyngkot fight back. Earlier, Krose opened the scoring for Laban in the 6th minute to lay the platform for the goal frenzy. Krose’s found the back of the nets again in the 69th minute while Challam struck in the 32nd and 74th minutes respectively. M. Marbaniang netted the lone goal for Laitlyngkot in the 45th minute.
In the Third Division tourney, Mawkriah West secured a closely fought 1-0 win against Mawtawar. S. Suting was the match winner, scoring in the 40th minute.
On Saturday, Laitumkhrah play their deciding match against Mawlai at 4pm. A win will ensure Laitumkhrah a spot in next season’s Shillong Premier League. Sawmer, meanwhile, will take on Nongrim Hills at 4:15.
