I have never behaved like a dictator: KHADC CEM

SHILLONG: KHADC CEM Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit, while expressing disappointment over the accusations made by a section of the UDP MDCs against him, has decided to convene a meeting of All Regional Parties Alliance (ARPA) shortly to iron out the differences.

Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, the HSPDP leader said that he tried his best to accommodate the views and suggestions of all the partners of the ARPA.

“I have never behaved like a dictator as accused by some UDP MDCs. There was never an occasion when I tried to bulldoze my opinion either in the meeting of the Executive Committee (EC) or the alliance,” Basaiawmoit said.

The KHADC CEM, however, said that no one can deny the fact that as a leader one should have the ability to take decision on his own on any emergency matter.

While replying to a query, he said that he was not very sure “if it is an attempt to dislodge the present EC”.

“I really don’t know who is behind,” he said while refusing to comment on the accusations levelled by UDP MDCs against him.

In the House of 29, ARPA has 17 MDCs — HSPDP (7), UDP (6) and KHNAM (4).
