SHILLONG: Pangsang R.N. Sangma on Thursday filed a written FIR against self styled chairman of ANVC-B Bernard N Marak. The FIR was lodged with East Khasi Hills SP M. Kharkrang.

The PRO, Meghalaya Police, informed that Sangma also denied all the allegations leveled against him by Rimpu (Bernard) in the media. Rimpu had alleged that Pangsang had leaked the information to ANVC-B about orders of the Chief Minister on the ‘secret killings’ of ANVC-B cadres.

Pangsang, in his written FIR, stated that the statements made by Rimpu were false and baseless and were made only to malign his name and to divert public attention from their activities.

Pangsang stated that he is neither Tangcha Sangma nor the publicity secretary of ANVC, nor he has any inclination to join any militant group.

As the jurisdiction of this case falls under Tura Police station limits, the East Khasi Hills SP forwarded the FIR to his West Garo Hills counterpart for necessary action.

The West Garo Hills SP directed the Tura PS to register a case and accordingly a criminal case under the Information Technology Act, 2000 was registered.

ANVC clarification

Meanwhile, Tangcha Sangma, assistant publicity secretary of ANVC, has clarified that Rudy Pangsang Sangma is a different person and is not connected with ANVC.

“As for Rimpu Marak’s allegations that I am a recent recruit, I would like to clarify that I am a senior ANVC cadre and have been in the ANVC before the ceasefire. Due to health complications, I had taken a discharge from the organisation and now, I am back in the organization,” Tangcha Sangma said.
