SHILLONG: Two members of KSU Umsning unit, who were arrested earlier this week for forcibly locking the Meghalaya Agrovet Company and assaulting labourers, were released on bail on Saturday.
Ri Bhoi Superintendent of Police, C.V.S. Reddy, informed that four labourers had received minor injuries when they were assaulted by the KSU members.
The KSU Umsning unit had locked the office of the Meghalaya Agrovet Company on the allegation that the company was releasing waste products into a river which was the only source of drinking water for residents of several villages in Umsning area.
The two arrested leaders were identified as Augustine Nongbri, vice president of KSU Umsning unit and Reymond Jana, general secretary.
