ATM fraud
Nimai Chandra Mazumdar lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that on September 7 around 4 pm, he received a telephone call from an anonymous caller claiming to be an SBI official from Mumbai who asked for his ATM details and the same was passed to him in good faith. Later, the complainant found that Rs. 54,000 has been withdrawn from his account.
Pranoy Dey lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on September 5 around 9 am, he received an SMS from an anonymous sender claiming to be an employee of SBI asked for his ATM details and the same was passed to him in good faith. Later, he found that Rs. 40,000 had been withdrawn from his account.
Threat
Aplang Jana Nongbet of Springside, Lumsohphoh, Shillong, lodged a complaint at Lumdiengjri PS that on September 6 around 12.15 pm, one Shambhu Rai threatened him and his family members with dire consequences over phone.
M. Mynsong and others lodged a complaint at Madanrting PS that on September 5, one Westerwell Nongrum created nuisance and threatened the villagers at Nongpyrdi village (EKH).
Banned drug seized
On September 5, Police detected and seized ninety99 bottles of 100ml each of ESKUF Cough Syrup in the possession of Momen Bepari from a vehicle (ML-08A-9013) at Chibinang (WGH).
Coal truck seized
On September 3 around 3 am, Police seized one coal-laden truck (AS-19C-5009) driven by Dondiroy Sangma at Wageasi (NGH).
Theft cases
D.K. Ojha lodged a complaint at Tura PS that unknown miscreants stole twenty-five meters of underground cables belonging to BSNL from Najing Bazar, Tura (WGH).
Sunbirth Momin lodged a complaint at Tura PS that on September 7, one Biru Dalu (22) stole his motorcycle (ML-08B-6373) from Dobasipara, Tura (WGH). Later, Police arrested the accused after he was apprehended by the public at Chandmari, Tura.
Susanto Sangma lodged a complaint at Williamnagar PS that on September 5 around 11 am, one Solomon Rongthak stole one new motorcycle (A/F) and one mobile phone from his residence at Samgonggre village (NGH).
Jimmy D Sangma lodged a complaint at Tura PS that on July 27, unknown miscreants broke into his shop at Rongkhon Songgital, Tura (WGH) and stole cash Rs. 1,25,000.
Misappropriation
D. Syiemiong, BDO, C&RD Block Mawphlang lodged a complaint at Laban PS that one Biarles Lyngkhi, Chairman, VEC and Lambert Sad, Secretary, VEC, Laitnongrim (EKH) had allegedly misappropriated unspecified amount of fund under NREGS 2009-2012.
Accident cases
On September 8 around 11 am, an accident took place between one Maxi Cab (ML-04-8483) driven by Corwell Kharthangmaw (26) and one motorcycle (ML-05J-9260) ridden by Mankhrawbok Dkhar (22) at Mawlai Nongkwar, Shillong. As a result, rider and one pillion rider of the motorcycle sustained injuries and were shifted to Civil Hospital, Shillong.
On September 7 around 7 pm, one motorcycle (ML-05L-5374) ridden by Shamborlang Shabong (21) skidded off the road near FCI Godown, Mawlai, Shillong. As a result, rider and one pillion rider sustained injuries and were removed to Nazareth Hospital, Shillong.
Assault
On September 7 around 3 pm, unidentified miscreants assaulted Tajuddin Talukdar (28), driver of truck (AS-01-AC-1171) at Mawryngkneng (EKH). Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital, Shillong.
Indira Ray lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on January 14, 2014, her husband Ganga Sagar Ram assaulted her in their residence at Forest Colony, Shillong. Victim had sustained injuries and had to be removed to NEIGRIHMS for treatment.
Attack on trucks
On September 7 around 9.30 pm, unknown miscreants pelted stones at two trucks (AS-01-DC-1607 & AS-01-DD-2325) which were parked near the FCI Godown, Mawlai, Shillong, damaging the windshield of both the trucks.
