SHILLONG: The Co-ordination Committee of the Tribal Organisation of Assam has called for a 12-hour Assam bandh on September 23 in protest against deprivation of SC/ST in promotion and demanding immediate appointment of TET qualified SC/ST candidate.

Informing this on Saturday, Frylin Marak, advisor of the Committee, said that the Garo Students’ Union of Assam has also extended support to the bandh programme.

He alleged that the Garos in Assam were deprived in the field of education and employment.
