Agartala:  After lodging FIR against former BDO of Bishalgarh and present Assistant Director of Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA) and younger brother of CPI-M youth wing DYFI’s state Secretary Bimal Chakraborty fueled oppositions in anti-corruption movement in Tripura.
Congress alleged police has been influenced by Bimal’s brothers, a senior TPS officer Kamal Chakraborty and DYFI’s chief Amal Chakraborty and as a result, even after two days of lodging FIR under non-bailable sections of IPC, none of the accused was arrested so far.
Congress Spokesperson Dr Ashok Sinha however, pointed out that according to audit report and police information a lion share of the embezzled fund of Rs 17 Cr was taken by CPI-M party and the local MLA and Finance Minister Bhanu Lal Saha but police has been intentionally ignoring the points.
Similarly, the accused cashier of Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) accused of Rs 5 Cr scam Arnab Chakraborty had also revealed that a large amount of money was shifted to CPI-M leaders through top officials of education department but police did not take any action on his statement.
Meanwhile, BJP state committee Police however, alleged that the then District Magistrate of West Tripura and present District Magistrate of Amravati in Maharashtra Kiran Gitte has also accused of non-action in the corruption case rather suspected to be involved in eating the money.
“The special audit observed that  Gitte being head of the project implementation team was suspiciously failed to make the adjustment of the fund.
Both Congress and BJP demanded CBI enquiry into the scams and special central audit into all the centrally sponsored schemes implemented in the Tripura in past three years. (UNI)
