Three FIRs on EJH incidents

I Karthikeyan K. ASP, East Jaintia Hills lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on September 24 at around 4 pm, while he was proceeding to Wapung (EJH) along with the Magistrate on reaching Mookhep around 600/700 people pelted stones at the police and firing shots were also heard. Later, he heard that the Magistrate gave an order for lathi charge and to fire in the air. The crowd did not disperse and tried to surround them again. So the Magistrate for the second time gave an order to fire in the air.

S.U Khinder Pal, Dy. Commandant, 44 Bn. BSF filed another FIR by saying that on September 24, while troops of his unit were proceeding from Mawpat, Shillong to Khliehriat (EJH), on reaching Wapung area an irate mob approached them, pelted stones and tried to drag out the driver of the BSF vehicle.

R S Manner, ADM, East Jaintia Hills lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on September 23 at around 7 pm, when she reached Wapung (EJH) the irate mob started to pelt stones at her vehicle and attempted to burn the vehicle. She also heard firing shots from the mob.

Woman found unconscious

On September 30 at around 1.25 am, a woman Barisha Mawthoh (34) was found lying unconscious near Seven Set School, Malki, and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.

Cop looted

On September 29 at around 10.30 am, unknown miscreant stole one ATM card, police I.D card, one Samsung mobile phone, one Tablet phone, a pair of football boots and cash Rs. 1,500 belonging to Barland R Synkon of 1st MLP Bn. from Polo ground, Shillong.

Constable attacked

On September 29 at around 6.30 pm, one Kumar Sunar (20) attacked UBC/243 Jameson Sangma of Jowai Traffic Branch with a bamboo stick on the head while he was on traffic duty at Lad Stadium Junction, Jowai, West Jaintia Hills. The traffic personnel sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Jowai.

Accident

On September 29 at around 3 pm, one Jeep (ML-05D-0967) driven by Augustine Nongkynrih ran over the pipes along the roadside at Pdengshnong, Sohra in East Khasi Hills causing injuries to two pedestrians Shynsharlang Swer (12) and Wanbha Kupar Swer (17). The victims were removed to Civil Hospital.

Shop burgled

On the intervening night of September 27 and 28, miscreants broke into a shop located at 29-Cantonment, Shillong and stole hardware items worth several lakhs of rupees and cash Rs. 72,675 from the cash counter.

Two abducted

On September 27 at around 7 pm, unknown miscreants abducted one Tender Nongbri and Edward Nongmin from Rongkhugre village (WKH).

Truck torched

One Laxman Ram lodged a complaint at Khliehriat police station that on September 25, unknown miscreants set fire to his truck at Diengsynrum, NH-44 (EJH) by throwing a petrol bomb. As a result the truck was completely gutted.
