Langsning score easy win over Malki

SHILLONG: Two early goals helped Langsning clinch a tight 2-1 victory over Malki on Tuesday’s Shillong Premiere League match at the JN Sports Complex, Shillong.

Langsning scored at the very onset of the match with N. Kharumnuid getting a shot past the goal keeper in the 1st minute. Eleven minutes later, Chesterfield Nongdhar further put the lead to put his side in a strong 2-0 position at half time. But Malki bounced back with a goal in the 53rd minute through F. Manner to keep his side’s hopes alive to equalize the score. But till the end of stipulated time they could not alter the scoreline and the match ended up with 2-1.

Sawmer thrashed 3-0 win over Umphyrnai in the Third Division match at Ground II. K. Kharumnuid scored a brace (1” & 41”) while D. Lyngdoh added the third goal in the 65th minute.

In another Third Division match, Nongrim Hills pip out a 1-0 win over Qualapaty. P. Suting was the scorer of the match which came in the 43rd minute.

Today’s Matches:
SPL: Rangdajied United vs. Meghalaya Police at 3:15 pm. The match will be played at Ground III, Polo Grounds as construction work is in progress at the JN Sports Complex.
Third Division: Nongrah vs. Risa Colony at 1:30 pm & Madanryting vs. Nongsohphoh at 3:30 pm at Ground II
