Kali Puja
The Dipanwita Kalipuja will be celebrated at the Yogamaya Ashram premises in Three Pine Colony, Laban on Thursday. The day will start with the Mangal Arati at 6 am followed by Kali Puja, Guru Puja, Mahakal Puja and Kumari Puja which will be followed by Prasad distribution.
Musical night
Kali Puja Committee, Mahendraganj will organise a musical night on October 25. Proceeds from the event will go to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Blood donation
The NSS unit of Shillong College organized a voluntary blood donation camp in the college campus on October 17. Around 60 volunteers took part in the programme in which 33 units of blood were donated . The programme was conducted in collaboration with the Regional Blood Bank of Pasteur Institute.
Cleanliness workshop
A workshop on cleanliness and a cleaning drive was conducted in the campus of JNV-Mukhla on October 18 . The programme was organized by the PTC of the school. West Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner PS Dkhar was the chief guest on the occasion.
Awareness programme
Nongkhlaw Sports & Cultural Club in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Nongstoin will organize a one- day awareness-cum-education programme on skill development, drug addiction, child marriage, HIV/AIDS, communal harmony, etc.,at Nongklaw Village under Nongstoin Block on October 22.
Exhibition
The Field Exhibition Unit of DAVP will organise a six-day photo exhibition in Pynthorumk-hrah, Golflink Community hall from Wednesday. Various topics like poverty alleviation, Swachchha Bharat Abhiyan infrastructure development, entrepreneurship, food security, internal security, energy, and initiatives towards the development of North Eastern States will be covered in the photo exhibition.
Annual meet
IIM Shillong successfully hosted the 15th Annual Library Consortium Meeting which concluded on Tuesday. The two-day meeting was inaugurated by Prof. Amitabha De, Director of IIM Shillong along with Prof. Sanjeeb Kakoty, Chairman, Library Committee, IIM Shillong.
