RBSU knocks DC’s door for reinstating terminated youths

NONGPOH: Aggrieved with the recent termination of the 20 local youths by the NKC, a company engaged in the construction of the four-lane project from Jorabat to Umdihar, the Ri Bhoi Students’ Union (RBSU) on Monday sought the immediate intervention of Deputy Commissioner Pooja Pandey for their reinstatement.
An RBSU delegation led by their president Everjoy Nongpluh met Pandey on Monday and submitted a memorandum apprising her of the present state of affairs.
In the memorandum, the RBSU appreciated the efforts of both the Central and the State Government for implementing the four-lane project in the State which has provided avenues of employment to the local youths of the district, but mentioned that things have gone haywire ever since the arrival of NKC on the scene.
The RBSU lamented that the all the local youths have been terminated from their respective designations by NKC Pvt. Ltd. for reasons best known to the company and without any prior notice.
