TURA: Shalom Meghalaya, a joint peace initiative of various Churches in Garo Hills, has strongly condemned the recent brutal murder of Bharat Singh Shekawat, a trader from Rongsak Market in East Garo Hills.

“Mr Shekawat supported the peace movement. The miscreants who committed this crime even after the ransom was paid brought immense shame to the people of Garo Hills,” it said.

The peace movement demanded that the culprits be punished as per law and also made an appeal to the people of Garo Hills to come out strongly and fearlessly to condemn such senseless and inhuman acts. It also expressed serious concern about safety of people residing in Garo Hills.
