SHILLONG: With the countdown beginning for disbanding of ANVC, the ANVC-B leadership has summoned all the cadres scattered to report to the Eden Bari camp within ten days.
In a statement issued to the media, Jakrik Wareng, Secretary, ANVC.B said that to complete the process of listing the cadres and weapons, ANVC-B directed its cadres to report to the camp.
” The State Government acknowledged the Eden Bari camp and assured to provide assistance to make the camp functional so that listing of the cadres can be completed”, the ANVC-B leader said.
“We want our cadres to report to the camp so that we can complete the process of the agreement within a given time,” he said adding that the final list will be submitted to the Government for rehabilitation after laying down weapons.
“Those who fail to report will be considered absconding or deserters”, the ANVC-B leader said.
ANVC-B has as many as 300 active cadres in Garo Hills, Khasi Hills and Assam as was submitted in the original memorandum to former Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram in 2012.
“All may not return for which we want to physically verify before submitting the final list”, the ANVC said.
