Bus knocks down students on study tour

SHILLONG: As many as 22 college students from Kolkata were injured after a tourist bus knocked them down at Wahrymben Bridge on the way to Mawlynnong in East Khasi Hills.

Police said that the incident occured on Saturday morning at around 9.30 when the bus (AS-01DD-4133) driven by one Khaibar Ali hit the students of Surendra Nath College, Kolkata, who were on Study Tour to Meghalaya at Wahrymben Bridge on the way to Mawlynnong (EKH).

The bus fled the scene after the incident.

Injured victims were removed to Civil Hospital Shillong. Seven of the students had to remain admitted for further treatment.
