Drugs worth Rs 4.5 cr were destroyed

Imphal:Seized contraband drugs worth Rs 4.5 crore were destroyed on the outskirts of Imphal town, a senior police official said on Tuesday.

The contraband was set ablaze at Kiyagmei Pal area on Monday under the supervision of DIG Kh Chandramani, who headed the committee set up to seize the drugs. Chandramani said the disposed drugs included 44 Kgs of ephedrine, 47,852 strips of Actiman tablets and other narcotic drugs.

Their seizure had been registered under 17 separate police stations in Imphal East and West districts, Chandramani said. Narcotic and Border Affairs department said the drive to seize narcotic drugs would be intensified. (PTI)
