Ed Sheeran to launch record label
Singer Ed Sheeran plans to launch his own record label and he wants to promote new talent under his label.The “Thinking out loud” hitmaker has signed a deal with Warner, which will house his company and already has an idea who he wants to offer recording contracts to, reports contactmusic.com. “The door has now been opened. I’ve set up the label and I’m going to start signing people. It’ll be an imprint that goes through Warner. But I’ll get the rights back in about ten years,” he told The Sun.”I’m looking at people like me, who came through the singer-songwriter scene,” the 23-year-old said. Sheeran thinks he is in a “fortunate” position to be able to help new artists. I have a tour and Twitter, so I can put them in front of my fans instantly. I can sit down with heads of radio stations and ask whether they’ll play it on the radio. I’m in a really fortunate position to be able to break acts,” he said.(IANS)
AC/DC drummer charged with abetting murder
Hard rock band AC/DC’s drummer Phil Rudd has been charged with attempting to procure the services of hitmen to murder two people. Rudd, 60, appeared in court Thursday after his home in New Zealand’s North Island was raided by police this morning, The New Zealand Herald reported. Rudd was also charged with possession of methamphetamine and cannabis. He has secured bail until his next appearance Nov 27. Rudd, who had been in custody since the police raid on his house, was ordered to have no contact with the man he allegedly tried to hire to carry out the two hits. Rudd moved to New Zealand in 1983 after being sacked from the band. He was reinstated in 1994. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003 along with the other members of AC/DC.(IANS)

New mother Eva Mendes looked glamorous as she was seen for the first time after the birth of her baby girl in September. The 40-year-old actress, who shares her first child with boyfriend Ryan Gosling, gave birth to the tot on September 12 and looked effortless as she stepped out in a long black cardigan and loose fitting black trousers, reported Daily Mirror. Mendes has reportedly been using a low carb and high protein meal delivery service to help her shift the extra pounds. “Eva’s flattered that people think she looks good, but she’s not taking complete credit for it. She knows genetics plays a big role. She has great genes,” a source said. (PTI)
