I had suicidal thoughts after my spilt with Russell: Perry

Pop star Katy Perry has revealed that she had gone through depression following her split from husband Russell Brand.

Perry, 30, who previously confessed that her song ‘By the Grace of God’ is about her split from Brand, said she used to get suicidal thoughts, it was reported. “It was sad and there were thoughts, but there were never actions, thankfully,” she said.

The “Roar” hitmaker also discussed about the emotional tune. “Then there’s ‘By the Grace of God’, which is the first song that I wrote coming to make this record, I was in a darker place… “Sometimes you can be blinded by your extreme emotions. I definitely was looking for answers, and during that time I wrote that song. And yeah, I was depressed,” she said.

“I wanted to share that side of my story, because I know there are so many other people out there that have gone through things like that. Well then comes along a song that speaks to you, that makes you feel like, ‘Gosh, I can get through this. If she can get through this she added. (PTI)
