Kolkata Meghalaya House inauguration likely in Dec

SHILLONG: Hit by numerous delays, the Kolkata Meghalaya House may finally be ready for inauguration in December. The furnishing work of the rooms of the Meghalaya House at Russel Street is likely to be completed within the first week of December.
“The furnishing work is making good progress with 60 per cent of the work already complete,” Trade Adviser & Director of Movements at the Kolkata Meghalaya House, HM Shangpliang said on Sunday adding that the Meghalaya House will be ready for inauguration once the furnishing work is complete.
The official, however, informed that the government is yet to decide on any date for the inauguration of the project.
The furnishing work at the Kolkata Meghalaya House began only in mid-October, the official informed.
