CRPF jawan shot dead by officer inside camp

Guwahati: A jawan of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was shot dead by a Sub-Inspector of the force at a CRPF camp (34 G) located a Hojai town in Nagaon district of central Assam on Monday.

The accused CRPF official was arrested by the police immediately.A senior police official informed that CRPF Havildar Ashok Singh Tomar from Madhya Pradesh was shot dead by Sub-Inspector Simru Ram from Himachal Pradesh inside the CRPF camp at around 10-30 A.M.

The jawan was declared brought dead in a local private hospital in Hojai. The police officer said that there was a running personal conflict between the officer and the slain jawan for some time and the matter in now under investigation.

The CRPF officer later surrendered before the police at Hojai police station.
