Swamy supports Gorkhaland demand

Guwahati:Reiterating his support for smaller states, BJP leader and MP Dr Subramanian Swamy today lent his support to the demand for creation of a separate Gorkhaland.
Dr Swamy’s voiced his support for Gorkhaland demand in a reply to a query by Nanda Kirati Dewan of All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union (AAGSU) during an interactive session organized by Patriotic Social Media Foundation here.
Elaborating reasons for his support for creation of Gorkhaland, Dr. Swamy pointed that states like Chattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Jharkand are doing better in all spheres, Mr Dewan informed in a press release.
‘I am in particular in support of creation of smaller states and the nation has seen this transition over the years,’ Dr Swamy added.
‘Yes Gorkhas must have a state of their own and Gorkhaland should be created out of North Bengal,’ replied Dr. Swamy to the AAGSU leader.
Earlier, Dr. Swamy, in his address, spoke on a wide range of issues of national and regional interest like national integration, Hindu nationalist, Assam Accord, compared plans and polices of current government and previous governments in various context. (UNI)
