‘Will remain Midler’s fan no matter what’
Pop star Ariana Grande says Bette Midlers’ accusation that she uses her sexuality to sell albums will not change her love for the veteran singer. Grande, 21, in a Twitter post, said the Midler she knew was always a feminist and would not have judged her or any other woman. “Bette was always a feminist who stood for women being able to do whatever they wanted without judgement! Not sure where that Bette went but I want that sexy mermaid back! Always a fan not matter what my love,” Grande posted. (PTI)
Bob Dylan plays gig for one fan
Singer Bob Dylan performed a gig to just one fan of his at a special show at Philadelphia’s Academy of Music. The 73-year-old singer sang Buddy Holly’s ‘Heartbeat’, Fats Domino’s ‘Blueberry Hill’, ‘It’s Too Late (She’s Gone)’ by Chuck Willis and an unidentified blues jam with his touring band for 41-year-old Fredrik Wikingsson, who sat alone in the second row, reported Contactmusic. “I was smiling so much it was like I was on ecstasy. My jaw hurt for hours afterwards because I couldn’t stop smiling,” the fan said. The special show was part of a Swedish film series, ‘Experiment Ensam’ (‘Experiment Alone’), where people experience things alone which are usually undertaken by large crowds, such as karaoke bars or comedy clubs and Dylan was paid an undisclosed sum for taking part.
