District-level seminar on career guidance

NONGSTOIN: A two-day district-level seminar on career guidance programme under the Chief Minister’s Youth Development Scheme concluded at Nongstoin College on Friday.
The two-day seminar was organized by the Nongstoin College Career Guidance and Counseling Cell for more than 500 participants from Class XII up to Degree level of different schools and colleges of West Khasi Hills.
The participants got the opportunity to exchange experience in implementing programmes of career guidance and counseling, present activities implemented in their institutions, obstacles they faced, and successes they achieved. Topics covered during the seminar included creativity, skills for career planning, vocational and job oriented education, personality development, time management and resources support for career counseling and preparation of job sites.
Resource persons included Dr. B.P. Sahu, Head DACE, NEHU, Shillong, Dr. Joseph Pullen, Deputy Registrar, NEHU, Shillong, I. Mawthoh, HoD, Education, T.Dash, HoD, Pol. Sc. and N. Marwein, HoD, English, of Nongstoin College.
Later, certificates were presented to the participants of the seminar.
