SHILLONG: In continuation to its drive against the over loading of local taxis, the Shillong Traffic police has detained as many as 113 local and tourist taxis in last one week for over loading.

East Khasi Hills SP M Kharkrang informed that a fine of Rs 29200 was also realized from them.

He further urged commuters to object to overloading as this will bring about a semblance of discipline in passenger vehicles even as he asked passengers not to remain mute to such illegality.
